Software Engineer for Embedded Systems and AI

As a recent transplant from Boston/USA to Basel/Switzerland, I am excited to explore new opportunities in the intersection of software engineering and artificial intelligence. After dedicating 30+ years to honing my craft as an embedded real-time systems software engineer, I decided to take a career break and delve deeper into the realm of deep learning and AI and cloud technologies. Now, I am eager to combine my extensive software development expertise with my burgeoning knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques. Meanwhile, I am also taking advantage of this time to improve my pre-existing knowledge of German, which will allow me to better communicate and connect with the local community.

During this process, I finished "AI Applications in Pharma and Biotech from MITx", "NLP Specialization from Coursera", "Biosignal Processing with AI" and currently expanding my knowledge in cloud technologies and exploring ways to apply my hybrid skillset in innovative and impactful projects. I am enthusiastic about collaborating with like-minded professionals and leveraging technology to drive progress in exciting and uncharted domains.

Career break to get Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Neural Networks, Math for ML, Computer Vision, AI in Pharma and Biotech, Natural Language Processing and Cloud Computing certifications. I also study German to reach C2 Level.

I worked on next generation HeartMate III Left Ventricular Assist System. LVAS is a mechanical pump and supporting external devices. Pump is implanted inside a person's chest to help a weakened heart pump blood.  Whole system is a Class III medical device.
